Interesting post, I was just having this conversation earlier this week. You touched on a point, which is so true about when Jamaicans return to Jamaica on a vocation they give the impression that life is like a bed or roses overseas! Little do people realise that they most would of paid for their vocation by credit card and will have to work to pay off for their trip!

Great post,
Companies should look at migration as an opportunity to compete on a global scale, especially when an individual returns with a well rounded and highly developed skill set. Companies should maintain an open door policy with migrating employees.

Great article. I agree with you. Most educated Jamaicans who migrate to the states do so with little research and knowledge of what they are getting themselves into. This is why totally uprooting yourself and your family is not such a good idea. As a Jamaican, your level of success abroad is dependent on how connected you are to a Jamaican community.

Appreciate the sincerity of your article about some of habits that hinder our productivity at home, and the truth behind the work ethics abroad that makes us successful
