Moving Back to Jamaica

A blog about my Move Back to Jamaica after 20+ years of living in the US. Most of the articles focus on the period from 2005-2009 when the transition was new, and at it's most challenging.

A Different Quality of Life

Many who return to Jamaica would agree that the reason they are returning is to seek a different quality of life.

I'd say that this article might prove more than useful to help convince those that might be on the fence that coming back is, indeed, a sensible option.

Yes Jamaica has a different quality of life....you can check your friends up the road unannounced and you don't have to show up on time anywhere. You can have poor work ethic but climb the ladder of success. Chances are it's the gun or the car or the bad minded people in the district that will send you to the Lord before your time. If you have some big friends with big positions, you don't have to be qualified for them to assign you posts you most likely can't handle...and the list goes on....bandoolo is the order of the day and nobody is insuring any country within the hurricane belt if one should occur. So sure it's a great place with limited world views....but make sure you have worked abroad so that you can sit at home and collect those fat foreign pension cheques...other than that...stay where yuh deh.
